# Page Assist

Page Assist adds FreeTheAI as an OpenAI compatible provider, so you can chat with web pages using free models.

## Settings

| Setting | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Provider Name | `FreeTheAI` |
| Base URL | `https://api.freetheai.org/v1` |
| API Key | Your FreeTheAI key (`ftai_...`, 53 characters) |

## Steps

### Open the provider settings

Open the Page Assist settings and choose OpenAI Compatible API.

### Add the provider

Press Add Provider and fill in the values above. Press Save.

### Pick models

In the Model List that opens, select the chat models you want, then choose one in the chat.

## Common questions

### Does Page Assist work with FreeTheAI in Chrome and Firefox?

Yes. FreeTheAI allows browser requests, so the extension can call it directly.
